There is no need to transition from a kitten to an adult.
My kitten was fed this at the shelter so I bought it to keep feeding him. The shelter buys it in bulk and it's balanced for both kittens and cats, eliminating the need to switch from kitten food to adult food. I gave it four stars because my kitten doesn't like it and therefore doesn't eat much of it. She prefers soft food.
