The holes are too small - they will barely fit a #8 screw, anything larger (including the walldog screw) must be drilled. Knockout does absolutely nothing, it just slightly etches the surface. Otherwise if you need a small hole or are willing to take the time to drill and deburr all the holes to save a few bucks these are good hooks and the cheapest I've found. Aside from the smaller opening, they look identical to the hooks that come with the Walldog, but they don't specify a weight capacity, so use them with heavier items at your own risk.
