I bought this because our 13 year old princess developed a bit of a limp. I was hoping this self heating pad would help and be much safer than a plug in. I'm mixed on if it actually warms or not. I tested it out by leaving my bare feet on it while watching tv. It did feel kinda warm but definitely not hot. Our Princess was sus for about a week but finally took to it. It's pretty soft and doesn't make much sound when she lays on it. I haven't put it through the wash but for a cat, it's easy enough to shop vac. This is our second purchase after adding a Prince to our family. The Princess currently possesses both lol. Not overly durable or super hot but decent for an additional snooze location. I'm not sure how great it would work outside due to the material. Our critters are inside dwellers only.
