Exactly what I needed

This is exactly what I needed to adjust the idle speed on my Vespa. I didn't need a tachometer that I could set up for continuous use, just one that I could use to set the idle speed while adjusting the carburetor. I set mine up so I can just hide it in the engine bay when not needed, although it can be installed if desired. It worked better than I had hoped and allowed me to easily set the idle speed using the unit's default settings. I couldn't be happier with the results so far. Time will tell if it will last and will eventually need to be replaced when the battery dies (the battery is internal and not replaceable). The display was easy to read in the garage, I'm not sure how it will perform in bright sunlight but that's not a problem for me as I intend to only use it for adjustment. The readings were fairly stable and there were no problems with rapidly changing numbers. Very satisfied so far! Make sure you get a good ground for the ground wire and it should work fine for you too. I wrapped the red wire around the spark plug wire 5 times and then taped it in place, which seemed to work fine. UPDATE: After 30 hours of use (engine hours) it still works great. I chose to install it on the hole that was already in the metal frame of the engine bay so it's more secure - it works great and there's no chance of it slipping and hitting the pavement. I am very happy that I bought this touch. My ear isn't good enough to distinguish between 2000rpm and 1800rpm so I really need it.
