Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Optimized Xbox 360 Wireless Speed Wheel by Justin Munajj

Great steering wheel but hard to set up

Let me start by saying that my most recent experience was a PC steering wheel that you clipped to your desk. The experience was decent, but the wheel kept turning no matter how hard you pressed it against the table. Also, it was difficult to find settings that worked well, so my experience with racing game wheels died with this wheel. Fast forward to today and I am now using an Xbox 360 Wireless Speed Wheel. As the name suggests, it's completely wireless and uses accelerometers to detect movement. It has accelerometers that can detect movement in all directions, meaning this wheel could be used for flight simulators in the future. However, only a few racing games currently support the controller. The only game I own that supports the wheel is Forza Motorsport 4. The game's developers recently released a patch that improves the functionality of this wheel in-game. The steering wheel has vibration feedback, so you'll feel it when you accelerate, brake, drive through the sand, etc. It took me a while to get the controls to feel natural. The default settings for the wireless speed wheel kept me rolling throughout the game as the dead zone (how much you spin the wheel and don't actually spin it) was too big for my liking. If you go to the advanced settings, you can change every detail (although Turn10 didn't provide details about each setting). Here are the settings I use and I like the steering wheel at this level. By reducing the deadzone it feels more jerky and snappy so it now feels precise and precise, feeling every subtle movement I make. I haven't had the steering wheel very long, so I'm still tweaking it. If anyone has a setting that they think works best for this wheel, please let me know!: Steer Axis Inside Deadzone: 0 Steer Axis Outside Deadzone: 40 Acceleration Axis Inside Deadzone: 0 Dead Acceleration Axis Zone Outside: 40 Deadzone the deceleration axis inside: 0 dead zone deceleration axis outside: 40 clutch axis internal dead zone: 0 clutch axis external dead zone: 40 handbrake axis internal dead zone: 0 hand brake axis external dead zone: 40 vibration scale: 100 settings Turn10 default (which I don't like): steer axis inside dead zone: 1 steer axis Dead zone outside: 95 Acceleration axis inside dead zone: 15 Acceleration axis outside dead zone: 100 Brake axis dead zone inside: 15 Brake axis dead zone outside: 95 Clutch shaft dead Dead zone inside: 15 Dead zone clutch axis outside: 90 Dead zone handbrake shaft inside: 0 Dead zone handbrake shaft outside: 100 Vibration scaling: 100 negatives have been discussed in other reviews so I'll give me an opinion on it. There are no buttons on the bumper (no LB or RB). This is a big oversight that doesn't affect gameplay in Forza Motorsport 4 (although it does make some menu options harder to customize), but it does affect the number of games the controller can be used in. For example, it would be an ideal controller for a game like Ace Combat: Assault Horizon (an arcade flying game), but this game makes heavy use of bumpers, so the game developer would have to create a game that didn't need bumpers to use this wheel. . Another downside is that the wireless wheel doesn't have a headphone jack. That means if you want to talk to your friends while playing with the wheel, you'll need either a wireless headset or a Kinect. Otherwise I like the steering wheel! That makes driving much more exciting. You don't have to have a large facility in the family room, living room, etc. The bike does not need to be attached to a table or desk. No wires. When you're done playing, simply slide the compact steering wheel into the drawer. If you hate bulky, expensive peripherals, this controller is for you. And it's at a great price, so you can buy some balance bikes and race with your friends. I'm curious if this will work on a PC as I have a wireless receiver. I will check it out soon.
