My pup loves inside so I thought he might like a bed with a hood. Unfortunately, he stepped on or lay down on the hood, rendering him useless. I ended up taking it off (luckily it's removable) and turning it into a bed that didn't cost almost twice as much as a regular bed of the same size. The pillow insert slides out and has a zippered cover, which is good in theory. My pup chewed about an inch off one side of the zipper. I can't let him eat plastic zippers, so I took out the pillow and put a folded towel in its place. Now he just uses the outer cover of the original bed. It's well made, but you had to use velcro to secure the pillowcase (less likely to be chewed on). For my pup, this bed wasn't worth the extra money.
