I was an avid user of disinfectant wipes long before COVID plunged us into a disinfection craze and had enough supplies to survive the great wipes shortage of 2020. I bought one of these before the pandemic and it worked well - so well I bought another for a different part of the house. Depending on the size of the can I buy, I use the smaller size by simply dropping the can into the holder. I use up more by taking them out of the original store packaging and popping them straight into the dispenser. I haven't had any problems with rusting on the inside when using them this way, but I also inspect, rinse and dry between each fill. The small grate I noticed is actually on the OUTSIDE rim of the container where the top connects to the body - the grate is hidden by the top when installed. I think this will happen if you use a plastic container or put the wipes directly into the dispenser as the wipes don't actually make contact with that part of the dispenser. These light rust spots can be treated with a little baking soda and elbow grease. Another tip: sometimes the top gets stuck when you press the lever to open it (usually this happens when it hasn't been opened for a while - but luckily the towels aren't dry yet!). Once the lid is up I just lubricate the locking mechanism with some oil and the lid pops open with no problem. I've also added my own label based on my favorite tissue brands! Love these donors.
