There are many models of futons at Revain so it was difficult to choose. I chose this futon because (1) it's made in Japan, (2) it comes uncompressed to keep it fluffy on arrival, (3) the reviews didn't indicate any chemical or "exhaust" smell in the materials Report. It arrived quickly. I was very happy with what I received. I was afraid it would be stored in some warehouse and smell like mold or dust, but it was kept with no smell or dust out of the box. No chemical or strange smells. I bought a matching futon cover from Japan sold by BJDesign and it fits perfectly. Both items smelled very clean on arrival and were ready to use right out of the box. If I need another one I will definitely buy this combo again. Some possible caveats if someone was very picky: (1) If you are a tall person or like to drive in your sleep, read the measurements very carefully. A Gemini might be too slim for you, but it's fine for a petite person. (2) Due to the thick, puffy, quilted soft construction, you will feel the pads (bumps) separately when you sleep directly on it without a mattress topper. Most people won't notice, but some finicky guys might. (3) the whole mattress, although thick, light and portable. It can be carried by one person. If you equate "heavy, thick futon" with "good quality," you might not like this style.
