It might work on thick hair.

I have fine, thin hair. They don't come out easily at all. He pulls my hair out, then the scrunchie and my torn hair are braided together. They also left a dent in my hair. The stretch didn't really bother me, I just had to rewind it again. Now I only use them to tie my hair in a bun when applying Olaplex or a deep conditioner.
