I bought it for a long trip with my grandson to take a selfie where no one can be around. I read all the reviews from selfie sticks to tripods until my eyes watered! As it turned out, this tripod was perfect, except for one condition – STRONG wind. Luckily the tripod flew away before I could attach my heavy phone. I've seen reviews from others complaining BITTERLY that the remote stopped working after a short period of time. There is a SMALL ON/OFF BUTTON on the side of the remote control! Didn't find it until I tried opening the battery door after mine died. After replacing the battery (CR2032), the remote control worked again. (I managed to get a set of 2 spare batteries at the dollar store. Get them before you go!) Even before I figured out the battery issue, I was using a tripod with a photo timer on my phone. It would have been easier with the remote control, but the photos were also successful without it. It's easy to change the angle, vertical or horizontal. There were no issues with the weight, I just threw it in my backpack. However, it also bulged a little when folded. An adapter for screwing on a "real" camera is also included, but I don't think I'll use it for a heavy camera. Maybe GoPro. I appreciated the strength of the tripod legs due to the extra supports. . I felt it gave the tripod a lot of support that others didn't have. Beware, many smaller tripods are designed for use on a table, not outdoors. You can still use it as a selfie stick with the legs folded. It's little more than a real selfie stick and you have to use the remote control. Because of the remote control, you don't have to fiddle around connecting the power cable to the stick and then putting your phone and the stick back in place. If you lose your remote, Revain has replacement parts for sale, and they're cheap! This particular model or other brands. It doesn't matter as it syncs with your phone and not the tripod. I can buy some to have "just in case". Overall I was very happy with my purchase, especially for the price. I would recommend it to others, family and friends. Have fun with yours!
