I have several hats that provide good shade and protection - big brim, neck guard etc. I needed a small and not bulky hat when other hats were unnecessary. This hat is perfect for those days. It breathes well, light and comfortable. I bought two hats to have a spare. Size: I usually wear my hair in a ponytail when I'm wearing a hat. I wear a medium hat with my hair up. I use almost all tape measures (not sure what it's called, but maybe you know what I mean). The only downside I would give is that the tape measure doesn't stay in place. The hat slips a little on my head. because I can't stretch the band to the right size. I don't mind it, but if this was my everyday hat I wouldn't want it to slip. As a thank you, the seller sends a pair of socks free of charge with every hat. I thought that was a really nice touch.
