I have used this item twice in total. The metal housing of the motor becomes very hot. it will burn you This makes it very difficult to change discs or brushes without waiting for them to cool. I have big hands and it's still very difficult to hold the spindle lock knob while trying to loosen the mandrel lock without touching the metal case of the gear. I think I'll see what the guarantee is but I'm sure it will be a hassle if I have to send it somewhere and then I won't have it for very long. The safety switch is weird. However, you get used to it. It requires a very gentle touch to activate. If you press hard, it won't move. Aside from overheating (maybe I have a bad one?) it seems normal. The power cord is made of high quality rubber. The included discs seem good, although I mostly used the non-included flap discs and wire brushes. I like that it comes with two types of guards. This and the stem are good safety features and the main reasons I bought this one.
