floor mats just what I wanted. They are beautifully embossed and heavy enough to withstand light liquids and wet or greasy food residue. Children can use crayons and the marker drawing will not show through. They are perfect for my tea trays. My only complaint was that they were not prepared for shipping. Thousand carpets are quite heavy, and the manufacturer packed them in a fairly strong box. The problem was that the box fell on the corners several times during transportation, and the corners were not strong enough to prevent the box from splitting, causing the corners of the mat to break. It's not a big problem for me because no one will see them but me. If you plan to use them for an event or as placemats for guests, the crumpled corners will look ugly. Too bad because the price is so cheap and they are good. I'm 71 and don't have the strength in my arms to pick up the box and reinforce it and wrap it well enough to go back to Revain. I will use an iron to press the corners and they will suit my use and I'm glad I have them. If I needed her for an official function, I wouldn't be so lenient. They must be packed in a double carton with the packs inserted at the corners.
