something was installed on macPro 3.1, OS El Capitan. The PCIe USB3.0 card works with all USB drives that are directly connected to the card. Power this thing on and it won't work. DOA. Disks are not displayed. Neither for a spinning disk, nor for a flash drive. Yes, I enabled the port so that it glows with a blue LED. So I pulled the cable out of the hub and plugged it straight into the card, bam. hard drive appears. STROKE IS POS. Edit: The hub is fine. I was wrongThe drive you couldn't see was in a format that OSX 11 didn't want to see. NTFS. I have a utility on my other Macs that allows OSX to see the NTFS format and I thought this one had it too. It took me crawling under a table and switching cables to a Win 7 box (works fine) and then to a W10 box (same) to reveal the canary feather on my lips. Excuse me! The problem wasn't the disk format, it was the really outdated PCI-E specification. where the USB3.0 card had to be plugged into this 10 year old Mac.
