#1 does not cause allergic reactions which is the main reason I bought it. In that respect I am very satisfied. However, there are also disadvantages. They are incredibly impossible to screw into supports! My roommate and I each worked an hour (I swear I did) to get it rolling. As soon as they entered, we agreed that I should never disturb them. It's just so hard! I used to have piercing jewelry and it was easier to use. The spiraling grooves on the post scratched my ear canal from all the pad fighting and I ended up with a cut of sorts coming out of mucus for days. I cleaned it and now that it's healed - so far so good. Earrings make me look REALLY trendy even sitting in the slums so they look good. Just annoying to put in. If you are someone who likes to change earrings every day to match your outfit: I would NOT recommend this set.
