They shrink a bit, but not as much as some of the other reviewers have claimed. ) and you know what you do when you buy clothes for your child (usually buy a little more than what they are wearing now depending on the weather, winter or summer) then I would say if your child is skinny, buy the size he wears based on the chart if he is more than a few sizes and if he is in the middle like mine then buy one size up. and the leg holes don't stretch much so if you have a burly little monkey with really fat legs I would look elsewhere.
