They are ok with the mounts
We have used them on leather seats to hold an iPad during a long car ride. One of our caseless iPads kept slipping out of its holder, but the other cased one was very reliable. The two design flaws we found are that it compresses the skin and leaves wrinkles after prolonged use. Also, these velcro straps are all around the headrest and you can't adjust where the velcro strap is located, which is on the front of the headrest. So if you have hair longer than 2.5 cm, it constantly pulls on the Velcro.
