It was relatively easy to assemble. You have to be careful when assembling that the long sticks are on the long side, but other than that it came together in about 10 minutes. The foam is slightly larger than the playground floor and consists of foam similar to an egg carton. The alphabet is slightly offset on one side. The letters AB and C are below and DEF is missing. And the whole alphabet wobbles. But I don't mind as I think the print is set up for a smaller yard so those that are cut larger won't print properly. It's not hard to take apart, but it's not easy to raise/lower, so once it's up it stays in that position until it's no longer needed.
