Review on Game console Valve Steam Deck 64 GB SSD, black by Mateusz Wysokiski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

This is an absolutely special machine. And it's not that it's powerful or functional. No. It's about the emotions it gives. I don't think the younger generation will understand, but for me it is of particular value that I was able to install Need For Speed Underground 2, MostWanted 2022, Corsairs: Curse of the Far Seas here. This thing literally takes me back to my childhood and makes it possible to take this childhood with me wherever I go. I don't need all these new Cyberpunk, RDR2, God of War - these are all great games, but they need to be played on the big screen, and this console, as for me, is about something else. In general, if I regret something, it is only that I did not buy this toy earlier. Valve low bow.

Pros
  • - Power. This is a fairly powerful device compared to competitors, which can run new games at medium and low settings, and older ones at maximum. - Ventilation. One of the key problems of devices of this type is cooling. Here, taking into account the dimensions and location of the ventilation, you almost do not feel that the device is heated. You can hear the ventilation itself, but it's not loud. - Ergonomics. Yes, the device is very large: about 2 times larger than the Nintendo Switch, but at the same time it fits very well in the hands. The protrusions that go on both sides of the back of the device fit very well in the hands, due to which the hands themselves do not get tired so quickly. - Shell. Here you need to make a separate bow to Valve, because they did not "lock" the device, like the rest of the consoles. This is an open platform where, if you have a desire, after performing dances with a tambourine, you can try to install games that are not on Steam. The shell itself may not be as beautiful as that of the Xbox or Playstation, but it is certainly more convenient than that of the SteamDeck mentioned above. - Management. Here I want to once again make a low bow to Valve, since from my point of view they have written perhaps the most convenient utility for setting up the joystick for different games. You can emulate joystick buttons for keyboard buttons, which is very useful in games where these same joysticks were not provided or were provided, but not on a full basis. - Trackpads. When I first saw them in the reviews, I thought that this was the most useless thing. In fact, these controllers do two insanely useful things at once. Firstly, they replace the touchpad or mouse. Secondly, aiming with the trackpad in shooters turned out to be much more convenient than I could have thought. - Case. Don't think it's a nice little thing - it's actually a very useful item for transporting the device, which will allow you to keep the sticks working and ensure the screen is scratch-free.
Cons
  • - Bluetooth. I tried to connect a keyboard with a mouse - I suffered for a long time with the connection. The device sees them, connects them, but nothing happens until a certain moment, and then, as if by magic, everything works for no apparent reason. Headphones could not be connected - the console simply did not see them. As I understand it, I'm not the only one with this problem. This is probably the only thing that I can call a disadvantage, because everything else will be already digging out of the category: it would be easier to do it, but the battery would be bigger (which are mutually exclusive things). No, in its class, this thing is literally perfect. It's like getting, conditionally pocket, PS4.
