I find it easier to make vegetable oil before adding rocks, water, and sand, but care must be taken not to get the sand into the oil when pouring. Leaky lid. Make sure the O-ring is tight. I bought this to see if I wanted to rock rock as a hobby. It's taking so long, I'm not sure yet. But I don't think the barrel will withstand great loads. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it lasts two batches. I will not be making large batches so I would rather upgrade the barrel of this machine than buy a brand new machine.
