Staples don't fully insert - get a good hammer with them

I bought this item to replace my obsolete Black and Decker Powershot stapler. However, when I tried to reupholster the seats of my kitchen chairs with the Arrow, the staples didn't drive in all the way, instead leaving a gap of about 1/32 inch. I then removed the staples from the arrow and put them in. Powershot and used it to finish a job that fully inserted the staples. The weird thing is that pressing the stick on the Arrow requires more pressure than the Powershot, but the Powershot has more propulsion. If you're buying an arrow, I recommend getting a good hammer as well so you can finish hammering the staples.
