Ideal for collar extensions. I think they are too small to work on belts with buttons but they are not designed for that. Advantages: 1. Just the right size to fit comfortably in a standard shirt buttonhole, preventing the button end from slipping out of the buttonhole. I had this problem with similar extensions that were a bit smaller.2. The loop is elastic and reinforced with thin wire. I expect it to take a long time.3. They are small and therefore easily lost, but the packaging is a small resealable plastic bag. So when you put them back in your pocket after taking them off, you won't let them go. The disadvantages are inevitably due to the shirt and not to the product itself: 1. The buttonholes on the shirt have to close straight. If you widen the upper one, a kind of crease will form on this line from the top to the second loop. If you wear a tie, it's not very noticeable. In my case, I expand the clerical shirt collar. The extension is covered by the tongue of an office collar, but a crease is discernible underneath. If you try to tie the two together to get even more room, the crease will be even more noticeable. Look closely at the product photos. Button ends are not solid white or black. There's a silver bezel around the outer edge, so they don't blend in with the existing buttons as well as I'd hoped.3. Be sure to unplug the extension cord before putting the shirt in the washing machine. Enough said. Overall, this is very good value for money and a product that does exactly what it says on the tin.
