Although these banana plugs are designed to crimp the ends of speaker wire, I've found that soldering the ends works much better. If you look at the picture I've added showing the plugs and the red and black caps in separate bags, you'll see that the end of the plug itself is a tube that you insert the bare wire into. I believe the tube can take wire up to about 12 gauge. I used 16 gauge wire. If you tin the wire and melt the inside of this tube, soldering the wire into the tube is very easy and creates a perfectly strong bond between the connector and the wire. Another benefit of this approach is that you can remove the connectors from the wires if needed - just heat the end of the connector with a soldering iron and pull the wire out. Flexible, low-profile covers make it easy to plug in and unplug amplifiers and speakers. Some banana plugs are much larger and can clutter the back of a multi-channel AV receiver. It's exactly what you need - thin yet comfortable to grip. Why only 4 stars? The price seems a bit high to them. If they sold at 16 a few bucks cheaper I would give them 5 stars. Despite this small caveat, I find them to offer better value for money than other forks offered by Revain. Good crimp or solderable connectors for a reliable professional speaker connection.
