My gold drawing weighs about 45 pounds. At first I thought the medium size would be big enough, but I definitely had to switch to a large size. The medium was ridiculously small compared to her. I still don't think the plus size is worth the premium label but as it is the only alternative to swing doors it needs to be made. Cutting a hole with small notches on the hinges is annoying as mentioned in other reviews but not bad. I already had the gullwing cutout, so I didn't use the template for the original cutout. Placing the door directly on the cut resulted in a better/tighter fit. Since my screen door was smaller than the standard 1 3/4" exterior door depth, I had to build a custom frame. This greatly increased the complexity and difficulty of completing the back panel, as can be seen in my photos. I have a couple of 1x1s cut and painted to have some wood to attach the outer frame to.Once the corners were angled and glued I'm happy with the end result.It could probably have been better but I won't put that much into the back of the door and it still allows access to the spring hinges so I can oil them again next year.
