Definitely worth the money. I still use my standard antenna when it makes sense, but if I need to get there I can screw this on and it will definitely hit the repeaters that I can't hit with my rubber ducky. Tip: I keep some small rubber bands in the bottom half, when I want to unscrew the antenna and put it away for storage, I take the top half and attach it to the bottom half for more compact storage in a bag, drawer, console, etc.
