I was looking for a great monochrome laser printer to replace my $99 Brother laser printer that I currently use for my business. The reviews were so convincing for it that I decided to pay almost 3 times as much for it. (I've bought many HP products in the past with great results and no issues.) While I like the idea of not buying replacement toner, I was very surprised to find that the print quality on this machine is MUCH worse than my current $99 US dollar machine. laser printer. This printer could not print the darker shades of gray as easily as my current printer. (And yes, I've played around with the settings and there have been NO good results.) To add insult to injury, this printer left a TON of "scratch lines" on the gold foil labels we use on our products, so I returned promptly return it. I would NOT recommend this printer for anything other than text printing. Still, you'd better buy a cheaper device because toner is not that expensive in the beginning. Honestly, save some money and buy something else.
