So far, this DVR has worked perfectly. I like having a lot of clips in front of me where jerks are being dragged out. I also like that it also records the rear view. The video is really not that great, I was expecting something better, I definitely can't take the license plate off the car while driving. But at least I can find out the make, model and color of the car if needed. Sitting still quality is much better, but still not great. Sound. I don't really expect the sound to do anything, but it picks up sound even though I only hear my engine. I'm sure it also picks up tires squealing or honking, which could give a clue as to who was at fault in the accident. The photos are useless, I thought it would be better to take a photo of the license plate since it is a shot, but they are so compressed that they are useless. I think the images were around 50-100kb in size. To put this in perspective, your smartphone probably takes over 4MB of photos, which is 40 times larger at best. This can't be used as a direct correlation, but you can imagine that if the file is 40x smaller then there can't be much data in the file so again the images are useless. The remote control for saving videos and taking photos is good. have the right to drive. I don't like the flashing red light, it's a little distracting at night. I'm sure I could probably just wrap it in duct tape, but I'm just giving my opinion on the device as is. The mounts worked perfectly for me, but as I saw in the YT video, don't trust the shooters. showing the camera's TDC, leave it loose before checking the video as both of mine were slightly offset and I had to rotate them to get a true vertical position. I didn't use the app to control the device or watch the video, I heard the transfer takes forever, I just take out the SD card. I used the desktop app which was ridiculously hard to find but it displays GPS, speed etc and connects the front and back side by side well but to be honest it's very clunky and difficult to use so I wouldn't care unless you really need that data for an incident or something. Overall I think this is probably the best device at a reasonable price. I think image stabilization might help if the video quality is poor. Overall I'm happy with the purchase, although I know that if I ever can't avoid a crash it will show up on video unless a bug crashes into the lens and blocks my view haha ( it actually happens quite a bit, but I, I live in the country).
