I didn't have space. I've never had this problem before, but the question is: what does it mean to have an X inch towel rail? On more typical designs with bars holding the bar, this number usually means the center-to-center spacing of the bars. So if there's a rosette to attach the stem to the wall, you'll also need to add the diameter of the rosette to your expected center-to-center distance to figure out how much space you'll need. I was 25.5" for work, but this towel rail was 26". Actual pole length is only 22 inches. A typical towel warmer has an outside dimension about an inch larger than the specified X and an inside dimension about an inch smaller. I'm guessing if you average two you get 24 in this case - is that the formula?
