Review on Mirror Universal Interior RearView Suction by Victor Olsen

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Installed December 16, 2019 Started falling off and loosening July 5, 2020

My first impressions were great. And at the time it was a wonderful replacement for my factory mirror, which really didn't stand still. However, it didn't seem to last as long as I had hoped. The design itself is perfectly fine and convenient to use, but it looks like the manufacturer cut some corners with the suction cup mechanism. It uses a suction cup and adhesive, which makes it very durable at first glance. But from December through now, the Florida heat has taken its toll on the suction cup components. The adhesive has worn off badly and I suspect the suction cup uses rubber bands or something because it no longer feels firm when used. It's not like you can do it because the dried glue seems impossible to remove. At this point, the cup can barely last hours at a time. I have to keep reaching up and pressing on the assembly to hold everything in place. Whatever it is doing, I can't see much in the mirror as the suction cup leaves enough wiggle room for it to shake around as you drive. I repeat, the mirror itself is fine and I like it very much. But the thing is, I have to replace that mirror again, this time with a more conventional day/night solution, as the adhesive on them doesn't seem to wear off as quickly as it does on this one. If you have the know-how to transfer this mirror to a standard mount that you can attach with 3M adhesive, you have a great anti-glare mirror with perfect day and night vision, without the need for a traditional switch. So my rating is 3 stars.
