Probably the most functional piece of furniture I've ever owned. So many turntable stands and vinyl storage consoles are designed to sit so low that a 6ft 5 guy like me basically has to sit on the floor to use them. The top of this stand is 34 inches high which allows me to comfortably set up a record to play without having to lean over that far. There's also room to prop up the album art, which plays in front of the lower record shelves, and the closed back of the console hides the cord from my turntable. Add some retro stiletto legs and the whole setup has a pretty elegant vintage look. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of MDF. It's so cheap and doesn't usually last well over time. It can also be scratched and wrinkled, and this piece came out of the box with a dented corner and a couple of marks on one of the side panels where the laminate was scratched white. But it's very difficult to find something made of real wood that has the exact same height and design as this stand. Plus, for the price, this is an absolute steal. So in the end he gets a thumbs up from me.
