I purchased this product after reading other reviews and watching YouTube videos. I had no nasty surprises when using this product. It worked exactly as promised and I found it very useful for quickly cutting out shapes. It's a bit pricey at first, but it was a gift and I knew I could return it if it caused more trouble than it was worth. Stamps are priced separately but I tend to use the same shapes over and over again along with stripes so I don't think I'll go into some appliqué shapes etc. Cutting mats are also an additional expense, but I've found ways to get them to walk a mile or two before they need a new one. After a long weekend without power in an ice storm, I bought the GO! cutting almost a thousand pieces for a large 9 patch quilt I'm working on. I experimented with the number of layers cut at once and the position of the cutting mat. I've cut up to six layers with a 3.5" square die (2 squares per die) and haven't had any accuracy issues. The few that were slightly wrong were entirely my fault as I used a very crumpled fabric just to see what the result would look like. But even then they only shrank by about 1/16th after ironing. No big deal to me. Last night I sewed about 10 blocks and lined up the stitches with no problems. For Cutting Mats: I have found that turning the mat before each cut extends the life of the mat. Also make sure you flip it over and use both sides. As the mat wears off, I find that with fewer layers it's a bit easier to use. However, with the dies I've used (all geometries), I've had no problem cutting 5 or 6 layers 98% of the time. Cloth waste: Yes, there is. . . more than cut the traditional way I think. However, I made a cardboard template slightly larger than the cut out area and used it to cut the fabric to minimize waste. It was an extra step, but not as tedious as cutting 1296 squares individually. For my current project, I plan to use the trimmings for the border of the finished quilt, so minimal waste isn't a big deal for me. I would recommend this product to any quilter who wants to quickly cut shapes or strips without straining their back or arm. Even if there are a few scraps of fabric, I find that MY time is valuable, and if the cuts are accurate then I find that a few extra scraps are worthwhile.
