The stand is very strong and flexible, allowing it to be maneuvered at various angles. The material is quite strong and heavy, you can put a laptop on it and don't worry about the stand tipping over. Be careful if you have settings like mine. I have an MS surface, so I project the offset onto a large screen and don't use the surface canvas at all. I do a lot of conference calls and use the camera a lot. So I have a face at a big angle. This can cause the device to tip over if you are not careful. Again, this is something that could be improved, but it's not really a kickstand issue.
