This is my second Monarch pistol. I lost my marking gun and had to mark items for consignment sale. I went to Staples and this gun was $50! I paid less than half that amount for this gun! I've never had a problem with the gun jamming or the marker pin flying off. I tag a lot of stuff when I sell it - maybe 100 of my own stuff, and then I lend my guns to friends so they can tag their stuff. Nobody had any problems with that. I find this marker easy to use. I had no experience with any of these items before purchasing and got my hands on it right away. Loading spikes is easy and this marking gun gets the job done quickly. My items will be marked as soon as possible. And of course, as soon as I bought a new pistol, I found my originals. Well, two tracer guns are twice as good as one! I can't speak to the capabilities of this gun in a retail setting, but for this junkie mom in charge, this gun gets the job done fast!
