The pillow is very soft and cushioning, like memory foam should be, with a hole in the back to keep baby's head and neck from sweating. However, since it's memory foam, it doesn't look like you can wash it by just tossing it in the washing machine. The lid doesn't come off either, that's the only thing that bothers me as my baby sometimes spits out milk so it needs to be cleaned. Otherwise, the height of the pillow is just where it is not too high, and it is comfortable for the child to tilt his head at any angle. The size is just right and it's easy to carry or pack.
