UPDATE: Just a few weeks into casual wear (it's still a pandemic and we don't go out that often) these socks have the characteristic inch-diameter see-through holes on the back portions of the heel that break , as soon as this can be most uncomfortable. My twin daughters are 4 years old. Although difficult to wear, decent socks *usually* last a year. Accordingly, I downgraded my rating to one star. These socks didn't even last a month. I would NOT buy from this brand again. I have too many kids (4) to spend money on socks that last less than a bag of goldfish in a house full of kids. First Rating: First impressions - overall these socks are a little scratchy and thin, but they have slightly thicker padding around the top of the heel/ankle where the shoe can rub. Whether they will soften after a few washes and last a while in my kid's feet remains to be seen. However, I bought these for my twins who are pretty rough with their socks but still need the non-slip textures on the bottom and are reasonably priced. I have four children so I absolutely hate buying sock packs where each set has only one matching partner to avoid marathon days washing 40,000 different sock designs. It's nice to be able to choose multiple packs of the same color.
