It could be better for office electronics

I bought a paper shredder about a month ago so it's too early to speak about its reliability. So far my observations. Good: 1) Very good at shredding sheets of paper into very small particles. 2) Has a good sized recycle bin. 3) The card/CD slot has its own mini bin to keep the shredded plastic from mixing with the shredded paper bin. 4) Relatively quiet. 5) Has a power saving mode. The bad: 1) I didn't think it would be a problem, but it turned out to be a major annoyance for me. This paper shredder is designed to process 8.3 inch wide ISO A4 paper. Most US letter-size paper is based on the ANSI-A standard, which is 8.5 inches wide. The paper slot measures just over 8.62 inches at the opening but has a reduction step just in front of the blades. Therefore, 8.5" x 11" paper can easily be fed into the slot, but it will hang on the step and not feed into the shredder blades on its own. Therefore, it is necessary to either fold the paper or physically push the sheets into the shredder until the blades touch the paper. From this predicament, the engineers designed the playing field. I can only assume it was Friday afternoon and they were late for happy hour. For an extra 0.2 inches, engineers could create a truly global product. If I paid attention to this detail, I would look more diligently for a paper shredder that can process ANSI A sheets without any manipulation. 2) The manual says the shredder can handle up to 5 sheets of standard paper, but I found after 3 it started sneezing.
