I might not have expected something like this from a USB 3.0 stick. I didn't expect the write speed to match the read speed. but if it's slower than usb2.0, it's a problem. The writing speed on this disc is not acceptable. Averages from 4MB/s to 8MB/s. In fact, it quickly oscillates between both extremes, as if throttling internally (overheating maybe?). I've tried this on 2 different PCs and a laptop with the same results. The Sandisk Ultra 16GB is shown for comparison. After seeing CrystaldiskMark's performance, I decided to return the Kingston and buy a second Sandisk for about the same price. I think something is wrong with this flash drive. We assume 3 to 7 thousandths of MB/s for a 4k recording. That's about 500-600 times slower than a hard drive with a moving platter and heads. I think the best option would be to find the smallest 2.5" USB3.0 case I can find, throw in a cheap 60GB SSD and carry it around. my"flash drive".
