MOTORCYCLE SEAT Best in Leather Care

The back of the passenger seat on my GL1800 Goldwing was torn at the seam. I thought of gluing a black leather patch into the tear and then covering it with the black glue from the leather and vinyl repair kit. But I went for an easier way and just used leather/vinyl glue with no patches. I cleaned the area around the tear with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol and let it dry. I then covered the gap with glue and let it dry. Once dry I applied some of Elmer's clear washable glue to the glue. When Elmer was dry I covered it with another layer of glue. Finally, when the second layer of adhesive was dry, I dipped a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol and rubbed it over the repaired area. (Glue didn't come off). I've allowed everything to dry completely and am happy to report that the repaired area is barely visible and the adhesive seems strong enough to keep everything intact. I have heated seats but so far the heat hasn't affected the repair. Conclusion: I'm glad I tried this product instead of buying a new back cover. The procedure is simple, does not take much time, and the glue is really strong. So far, so good. Worth a try!
