My cat fell in love with this YOUMI cat scratching post straight away. As if she knew what it was for and what it was for her. I laugh at the bizarre look, at the same time my wife says it can't leave my home office. The mail comes in a cardboard box and is wrapped in plastic and requires simple assembly. The base folds in half for transport, so I flattened it and screwed the carrot in with the supplied screw and allen wrench. The instructions provided are a bit nonsensical, except for the exploded view which makes reassembly obvious. The structure is very stable. The leafless carrot is only 16 inches tall and its heavy base is 13.5 inches in diameter. It's unlikely to tip over with normal use, especially if the cat is standing on the base and scratching the carrots. Overall I am happy with this purchase as it is quirky, well built and sturdy. This should distract her scrubbing instincts from the carpet and furniture. I can sneak down after the holidays.
