I needed a small hiking backpack when I got to camp. This bag did it. It folds into a bag that attaches directly to my backpack. Lots of pockets and space. I didn't think it would be strong enough for what I needed, but I was dead wrong. I took 5 water bottles, a pair of shoes, an extra set of clothes, some snacks and a few essentials. There was still room for more. I only encountered some rain and it held up ok but I couldn't tell in a downpour. Just in case, it is better to spray with impregnation. The backpack seems to be enough for a few more trips. That's a lot for what you paid.
