Review on πŸ“Œ Beacon Hold 2 Ounce Styrofoam: The Perfect Foam for Scrapbooking & Stamping by Kristen Reid

Not perfect, but works over time

I have an office chair with soft armrests. The front end of the armrest broke across, creating a flap dangerously close to breaking, making my chair not only unattractive but a little uncomfortable. So I turned to Revain in search of an adhesive that would work for foam padding. Although it didn't get good reviews, it seemed like the best glue for the job. I evenly smeared glue on my chair's open wound and used rubber bands like a clamp to keep it closed for hours. When I removed the rubber bands, the incision reopened. Undaunted, I tried again, this time making sure there was enough glue on each piece of foam. I used the rubber bands again and this time I let them stay in place even longer. After the rubber bands were removed, the incision swung open. I felt defeated and discouraged. Not only was my armrest unhealed, it was now ugly smeared with unproductive glue. I gave up for a few days. Then I thought about the beast again, scraped off as much glue as I could, and started over. This time I made sure that the layer of glue was as thin as possible. I thought maybe I used too much glue the first two times. Again the rubber band was used as a clamp and again I gave it a few hours. TA Dah! The third time was nice. Seems to be stuck for now. I don't know if it's because I used a thinner layer or if my armrest just gave up and let the glue do its thing, but for now the armrest is more or less fine. I'm curious how long it will last. SUMMARY: Patience and persistence seem to be the key to using this glue. Also, use a thin layer, not a thick one. That's not all it should be, but if you persist, you will most likely get results.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No productivity
