Our Crossfit Gym has several smooth bars and a pair of knurled bars. The fluted ones are great for grasping, but these old ladies' hands tear easily. Slippery bars I don't usually tear, but I lose grip or my grip becomes slippery even when I wrap sports tape around the bars.
