Review on πŸ“Έ H107C Hubsan X4 4 Channel 2.4GHz RC Quad Copter with Camera - Green/Black by Randy Jagers

Reliable, maintenance can be difficult

This little guy is really well equipped, intuitive to use and reliable for his size. The helicopter's speed and sound (like a hundred little bees) make flying it both intimidating and fun. - They break it often. Protecting props is very helpful in the beginning to avoid breaking too many props. You'll want to buy a few extra props. - It is durable: Despite all the falls, my attempts at maintenance and even a few times my dog grabbed it, it still works. - It's fun to work with the camera. mess around, but the footage is pretty much useless. - If you're more advanced: remove the prop guard to reduce weight and it flies like a dream in comparison. - Professional controller mode greatly improves the skills of quadrocopters; fast turns, rollovers and higher speeds become possible. The battery lasts about 8 minutes, buy an extra one. What it boils down to: Rugged little helicopter for $50. Buy additional parts (Hubsan emergency kit is a good choice) A HUGE PROBLEM: If you want to replace the case, you have to do some soldering! I don't know why Hubsan didn't design the quad motors to "pop out" (like LEDs do), but they do force you to disconnect the motor leads from the board if you want to replace a cracked housing. I think that's a major design flaw, so I'm deducting a star. Tips: - Always calibrate before flying - Make sure the screws are intact, in the right order and secure - Twist the battery cable and insert it into the body as far as possible, otherwise it may/will affect the flight - Calm down, move forward only if competent (this can be dangerous, some people get cut)

Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
