Review on Lexar High Speed Multi Card Reader by Chris Scalia

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A good product is the somewhat misleading

I purchased this product about two months ago and for the most part it does what it is advertised to do. I was able to use three different types of media cards (the most common being the 128MB CF card, followed by the 512MB CF card). My computer recognized new discs with no problem and never missed a beat. The problem I had more than twice was actually writing to disk. I assume when the file transfer progress window disappears that the files are being transferred to the card. In many cases this is not a reasonable assumption. Instead, when you pull out the card, it waits about thirty seconds and then displays a message box stating that no files were written and no data was transferred. It works if you wait about two minutes after the files are "completed" before removing the memory card. However, I have to give 2 stars because the card reader cannot fulfill its actual task.

Pros
  • Lexar USB. 2.0 High speed. Multicard reader.
Cons
  • No paint required
