I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old who wanted to learn about magnets (thanks Blaze and the Monster Machines). I thought he would play with it for 30 minutes and then forget it and carry on (he is 2 years old after all). nope! He plays with magnets for hours every day. He asks for it every morning. Our metal collection has grown a lot (paper clips, paper clips, pipe cleaners, nuts and bolts, bottle caps, etc.). We go every night looking for metal in our area (they are building a lot of new houses, so there are a lot of nails on the streets). I also bought a children's book on Lila (Magnets: Pull, Push) and he loved the book and it complements the study of magnets. The magnets are strong and it's worth it! I can only recommend this magnet set!
