I have been using metal mouse pads for several years and will never switch to cloth mouse pads again. They get dirty from the sweat of the hands and can hardly be cleaned effectively. Metal mouse pads are usually coated with something less reflective than metal. This coating usually wears off over time. Sometimes the coating is not very smooth or rough on it. I've been using this mouse pad for a few months now as my previous one wore out after around 18 months of use. So far, so good. It's big which I like. Even though I have fairly high mouse sensitivity, I also have three monitors side by side. I can easily navigate all three monitors in less than half the area of this mouse pad. That means I almost never run out of space. Once this mouse pad wears out - which is inevitable, nothing lasts forever - I'll report how long it lasted with everyday use.
