I've been using washcloths to remove make-up for a number of years, preferably with just water. These pads are a bit different in that they're quite thick and a lot smaller, but they do the job just fine, like a washcloth. The pads are very soft, when dry they are like little pillows. When wet, they lose some of their softness and the fibers clump together, leaving something of a void in the pad. However, they are very effective and feel good on my face. I don't wear a lot of makeup or use waterproof mascara or eyeliner so I can't say if the pads are effective at removing these products, but they worked well for my purposes. After using one of the pads for the first time, I ran makeup remover over my face to see if there was any left. There was none. The set contains three pads. I prefer black and brown as they hide makeup stains. They dry quickly and if washed after use and hung to dry, they dry easily so they can be used the next day. According to the product description, the package also contains a laundry bag. not mine. I doubt I would use the bag but if that's important to you I can't tell if it will be in your set or not. Overall a comfortable makeup remover without using soap or detergent. .
