Review on Enhanced BIQU B1 3D Printer with TMC2225 Extruder by Melvin Goerge

Good choice for a first printer

This was my very first 3D printer and I'm very glad I started using it. You could almost be overwhelmed with all the parts to assemble if it weren't for the excellent instructions and markings on the screws and parts. What I liked about assembling everything myself is knowing everything is lined up and aligned and the casters are set correctly. The touchscreen menu feels like second nature, it's very easy to see and understand and is very responsive to touch. . It has an alignment menu for both manual control and BL Touch setup. This printer is already set up in Cura so it was easy to install and set up. It also comes with a 2g SD card containing two gcode files. These were my first prints and they turned out great. The complete SD card manual goes beyond simple assembly, it also includes instructions for adding BL Touch, updating the LCD menu and motherboard. I bought it in March and use it daily. The only problem I had was the motherboard puller and fan. The exhaust fan would slow down and then speed up, and the motherboard fan would get very noisy. These types of issues are easy to fix and certainly not a deal breaker. Sainsmart support helped me with this and sent me replacement fans a few days later. I was able to continue using the printer without any problems while waiting for the fans to arrive. Their support team contacted me with shipping, tracking number and delivery time to my home. They also emailed me to let me know if I needed their help installing it and if it worked for me. Very good customer support. I was so impressed with Sainsmart's technical support that I was very satisfied with the excellent service and purchased another Sainsmart printer. My pros and cons are below; Pros: 1. Very quiet printer.2. Very easy to assemble with great instructions 3. Nice little footprint 4. Easy to find replacement or upgrade parts5. Excellent touchscreen menu and easy to see6. The parts are very easy to separate from the flexible board and require no glue or hairspray7. Can print PLA, PETG, ABS and TPU8. Supplied with all the tools needed for assembly and maintenance9. LED display in printhead and Dial10. Two menus, graphic and good old text menu11. Separate SD card slots for updating the LCD menu and motherboard. Cons: 1. Improved spool holder design (I like the Ender 3 Max spool holder and its layout)2. Upper stabilizer for the Z-axis screw (not a problem, but an easy fix). All in all, this is a great first printer! I recommend this printer and buy from SainSmart, you can't go wrong!
