I bought these lightweight shoes for aqua aerobics. While they are quite comfortable on land, they are not very good in the water. Soft insoles absorb water like a hard sponge and release it as you walk hours after you've been swimming in the pool. The biggest concern is the lack of traction. The manufacturer claims that they have good grip and show the heel. While the heel features a few raised lines, most of the sandal is smooth. Because of this, I often slip in the pool and walk very carefully on the slippery floor. They are so slippery I'm afraid of falling off when the floor is wet so I stopped wearing them indoors. If you're looking for sandals that are strictly for outdoor use, these might just be the ones for you. While they're quite comfortable due to the cushioned insole, the foam bottom offers a bit of support. If you are looking for authentic water shoes, keep looking. I found some here for 1/3 the price that are safer and more water friendly.
