About 8 or 9 months ago I purchased a thin non-adjustable coated eyeglass cord holder from the Cablz brand and have been very happy with it for the most part. I work as an electrician and am either outside in the sun or inside in the low light and it's just great to be able to wear my glasses around my neck and not have to take them out of my pocket or purse. I went with the silicone version this time as the coating on my readers cable seemed to have dried out, cracked and fallen off and it didn't feel that good on my neck. Full Disclosure: I attach these readers to my truck's rearview mirror and they stay there when I'm not wearing them. Maybe the sun destroyed the plastic cover. Ironically, the same style on my sunglasses hanging on my dash when not in use hasn't seen the same wear and tear. Strange. I just received the silicone version and am looking forward to seeing how they hold up to the same elements. To the right of the bat, they're loose (like wet noodles) so they don't stick out like the wired version. However, the silicone is sticky and can get caught on clothing. Just take a look.
